Because it is made with a micronized form of zinc oxide (with a particle size of less than 0.2 microns), it doesn't leave a whitish pall on the skin like traditional zinc oxide-based sunscreens. It is fragrance-free to reduce the chance of allergic reactions. The main active ingredient, zinc oxide, provides photostable protection; its ability to absorb UVA rays is not diminished by exposure to the sun. The sunscreen comes in a 1-gallon pump bottle for dispensing small amounts at a time.
